Opera Event February 28, 2012

Opera at the Corona Public LibraryThe Riverside Lyric Opera will perform a special "mini" opera on Tues.Feb. 28, 2012 at 7:00 PM. It's a special Family Night event and all, especially children accompanied by a parent or adult, are encouraged to attend.

The opera will be an abreviated version of Hansel and Gretel by nineteenth-century composer Engelbert Humperdinck, who described it as a Märchenoper (fairy tale opera).
It relates to the story of two children who are lost in the woods and encounter a wicked witch living in a confectionery cottage, but outwit her in the end to save their lives.
